At GoStay, we believe the spaces you explore, the stays you book, and the way you move through the world are deeply personal. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it – in plain language, not legal jargon.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We only collect what we actually need.

  • Information you give us directly When you create an account, make a booking, or contact our support team, you share information with us. This includes your name, email address, phone number, payment details, and any preferences or messages you send through the platform.
  • Information we collect automatically When you use GoStays – on our app or website – we collect data about how you interact with the platform. This includes your device type, IP address, browser, pages visited, search queries, and booking history. We use this to improve your experience, not to profile you.
  • Information from third parties If you sign in using Google or another third-party service, we receive basic profile information from that service – only what you’ve permitted them to share.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your data to run GoStays – nothing else.

  • To process your bookings and payments To send you booking confirmations, receipts, and important updates about your stay.
  • To personalise your experience To show you spaces that match your preferences and past searches – so you spend less time scrolling and more time exploring.
  • To keep the platform safe To verify hosts and guests, prevent fraud, and ensure that every interaction on GoStay meets our community standards.
  • To communicate with you To send you service updates, respond to your queries, and – only if you’ve opted in – occasional offers and platform news.
  • To improve GoStay To understand how people use the platform, fix what’s broken, and build features that actually matter.

We do not sell your personal data. Ever.

3. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We share only what’s necessary – and only with people who need it.

  • With hosts When you make a booking, the host receives your name, contact details, and check-in information. They do not receive your payment details or browsing history.
  • With payment partners Your payment is processed through secure third-party payment gateways. GoStay does not store your full card details.
  • With service providers We work with trusted third-party tools for analytics, customer support, and cloud infrastructure. These partners are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.
  • With legal authorities If required by law or to protect the safety of our users, we may share information with law enforcement or regulatory bodies – but only to the extent legally required.

We never share your data with advertisers.

4. COOKIES AND TRACKING

We use cookies to make GoStay work better for you.

  • Essential cookies keep the platform running – login sessions, booking flows, and security checks depend on them. These cannot be turned off.
  • Preference cookies remember your settings – language, location, and display choices – so you don’t have to re-enter them every time.
  • Analytics cookies help us understand how people use GoStay so we can improve it. These are anonymised and never tied back to you personally.

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through your browser settings or our cookie preferences panel.

5. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

Your data is stored securely and handled with care.

GoStay uses industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) for all data transmitted through our platform. Your data is stored on secure cloud servers with restricted access – only authorised GoStay personnel can access it, and only when necessary.

 

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as required by applicable law. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or financial compliance.

6. YOUR RIGHTS

You are in control of your data.

  • Right to access You can request a copy of all personal data GoStay holds about you at any time.
  • Right to correction If any of your information is incorrect or outdated, you can update it directly from your account settings or contact us to fix it.
  • Right to deletion You can request that we delete your account and all associated personal data. We will process this within 30 days, subject to any legal obligations.
  • Right to data portability You can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format if you wish to transfer it elsewhere.
  • Right to withdraw consent If you’ve opted in to marketing communications, you can withdraw that consent at any time – with one click or by contacting us directly.

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

GoStay is not designed for or directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that a user under 18 has shared personal information with us, we will delete it promptly.

8. THIRD-PARTY LINKS

GoStay may contain links to external websites or services — including host social pages or travel guides. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing any personal information with them.

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as GoStay grows and evolves. When we make significant changes, we’ll notify you via email or a prominent notice on the platform before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
